Kids will have continued development of basic techniques of climbing movement.  They will enjoy a variety of climbing exercises, with an emphasis on actual climbing.  There is a moderate amount of fitness training and conditioning. The ability of climbers in this practice will range from 5.10- to 5.11+ on routes, and V1 to V3 bouldering. Competition is encouraged (but not required) on this level of team.  Children are encouraged to climb on off days to help reinforce fundamentals.

Youth members will learn:

  • Proper warm ups
  • Intermediate climbing techniques
  • Fitness
  • Basic power endurance drills
  • Competition (recommended)
  • Sportsmanship
